I’m just about a month into my journey to a healthier lifestyle with Noom! This week was not easy, but like the past several weeks, I have learned a lot.
One thing that has been a huge change as I have progressed each week is that I’m doing A LOT of cooking and meal prepping. Having a prepared snack or meal takes the challenge of making a healthy choice out of what I eat. I’m able to just snag a container out of the fridge and go, knowing I’m putting foods into my body that are going to make me feel full and nourish me!
Some of my go-to meals that I have loved have been…
Breakfast:
Overnight oats with berries
Yogurt parfait with berries and walnuts
Lunch:
Blueberry and broccoli salad
Chicken tortilla soup
Supper:
Mexican quinoa bowl
Zucchini noodles and grilled chicken
Tilapia and asparagus
Snacks:
Hummus and carrots
Berry and yogurt smoothie
One of the major challenges I faced this week is something Noom users call “storm eating.” Around 7pm each evening this week, I really struggled to not want to eat all the snacks at home! Part of the problem was the treats we brought home from our 4th of July trip, and the other part was being home where those treats were in my face all day 😬 Some days I was able to practice some self-control, and others I did not.
I did not lose any weight this week, and that in itself was very eye opening to me. Weight loss is hard. It takes effort and perseverance. This week, I grew very lax on logging my meals, sticking to the meals I prepped, and practicing moderation with portion sizes. I know how important all those elements are to weight loss! If I want to continue to see positive results, I need to get my butt in gear! I’m ready for it and excited to start this next week 😃
Starting weight: 151.5lbs
Week four: 142.5lbs
