Noom Adventure-Week Two

Here I am, two FULL weeks into changing my lifestyle habits. This week was tougher, but ultimately I’m proud of myself for persevering.

My three big progress moments this week include…

1. We ate out unexpectedly on Sunday, and I really wrestled (internally) with ordering something that would be both filling but also healthy! Noom really encourages you to not eliminate foods or eat in a way you cannot sustain past your weight loss goals. I really wanted a big loaded breakfast sandwich, so I chose to swap the white English muffin with a whole wheat one. I also requested a sunny side up style egg instead of a fried one. These were little changes that made one of my favorite brunch meal fit within my calorie budget for the day! And the best part, the breakfast sandwich was still really stinking tasty!

2. I hit a WALL mid week. Thought distortions were seriously threatening my motivation. I kept thinking “you’re never going to lose the weight” and “you can’t do this.” These thoughts kept creeping in every time I felt like overeating or slipping back into my dessert with every meal habit. It was hard to move past those thoughts, but I continually reminded myself of my big goals. I repeated “just think about you will feel a month from now!” inside my head A LOT. And you know what, I’m proud of myself for moving past those tough moments.

3. I didn’t become discouraged by the scale this week! For too long weighing myself has brought a lot of frustration into my life. Shortly after baby girl was born, I decided that weighing myself was wrecking my self-esteem, and I actually hid my scale for a good six months. While that decision was beneficial for that specific time, it’s no longer helping me to hide from the scale. Noom has you weigh in every single morning. At first, this was not my cup of tea, but like any fear, the more you confront it…the less scary it is! I’ve learned that weight fluctuates and that’s normal

I’m excited by the progress I am making! I’m proud of myself for moving past some tougher moments this week!

So let’s take a look at where I’m weighing in this week…

Starting weight: 151lbs

Week two: 145lbs
